War can often separate families, even in ways that aren’t expected. Military wives have a hard time waiting for their husbands to come back home after each deployment. They often have to raise children on their own, and there’s also the uncertainty of whether their husbands will ever come back. Thankfully, one military wife’s story has a happy and romantic ending.
Sergeant First Class Jason J. had to be away from his wife, Sandi, while he was on duty with the US Army National Guard. Despite them being so far away, their bond has lasted for years, and he even decides to surprise her in the sweetest way.
A Special Surprise
Sandi’s a nurse at Salem Hospital and works long hours in the emergency room and had no idea what kind of mission her husband was about to undertake.
Jason, spoke to the hospital staff and they agreed to sneak him inside the hospital. To pull it off, Sandi was distracted by the some of the staff while others lead Jason to an empty exam room to hide. There, he lay in wait for the long-awaited surprise.
Jason managed to get these favors because he had a history with the hospital. For 6 years, between 2001 and 2007, he worked in the hospital as a technician.
Sandi thought that Jason would miss their anniversary since he was only supposed to come back home in February, missing it by a month. Little did she know that he would ensure that he saw her on the day, which was January 7th.
Serving His Country
Jason has been serving in the military for 26 years and was a flight paramedic. Sadly, less than a month after marrying Sandi, Jason was called to duty to go to the Middle-East and fight for his country. Now, Jason has been deployed four times. He making this one his last.
Back to the surprise Jason had for Sandi. While he was hiding in the exam room, Sandi was told to go into the exam room where Jason was waiting. As she entered the room, he jumped out shouting, “Happy anniversary!”
The surprise was unexpected, to say the least, but it marks something even greater than just an anniversary surprise. It symbolizes a new chapter in their lives, with this supposedly being the last time Jason would be deployed. They should now live out the rest of their in comfort without any worries.
