Marine Life Abundance off San Diego Coast
San Diego’s coastal waters are teeming with marine life, with recent sightings of dolphins and sharks drawing attention. Gone Whale Watching has been sharing footage of these encounters, including a viral video of bottlenose dolphins leaping spectacularly alongside their boat.
Dolphin Acrobatics Capture Attention
Photographer Erica Sackrison described the dolphins’ jumps as “Olympic-style,” likening them to gymnast Simone Biles. These impressive displays have captivated audiences, with one video reaching over 7 million views in a week.
Perfect Conditions for Sightings
Domenic Biagini, founder of Gone Whale Watching, attributes this influx of marine life to an abundance of food like anchovies and squid, which attracts dolphins. Additionally, the clear skies and calm waters have made shark sightings more frequent, including a rare offshore encounter with a great white shark.
New ‘Great White Shark Trips’
Given the prime conditions, Biagini has introduced special ‘Great White Shark Trips’ to his tour schedule. He advises boaters to be cautious in shallow waters to protect both marine life and themselves.
